We wrote a book..
I joined the screen printing industry as a shop owner in 2015. Shortly after, I was introduced Bruce Ackerman, founder of Printavo. Bruce started a side business in college on the University of Illinois campus to print for clubs and organizations. After graduation, Bruce was working a full-time design job while building a shop management tool (also known as Printavo) in his spare time. Because of its simplicity, and affordability, Campus Ink, became an early user on the platform. Since Bruce and I were so similar in age, location, and had graduated from the same university, we quickly became close. Over the next few years the two of us would meet up regularly to talk about the industry. We refer to those as the “Portillo Days.” We traveled to our first trade show together in Long Beach in January 2016. After an overwhelmingly successful show, we learned we were two of the youngest people in the industry. That is where we began documenting our lessons and learning through blogs, videos, and podcasts. Adam Cook, an early employee at Printavo joined the content force and over the next two years we created this book. This book is our first edition, so bear with us. It is a quick and easy read, and it is jam packed with our “crash course” guide to running a screen printing business.
